Question: The Wedding Feast: In the parable about the wedding feast, the part about the man being thrown out because he was not wearing the appropriate wedding garment has always been interpreted as wearing the proper attire when one goes to church. This seems to be such a shallow interpretation. What did you really mean by this?

God’s answer:

Show some respect.

This is about the attitude and decorum one has before God and others.

Question: Most churches make a big fuss about proper and modest church attire, using the parable of the wedding feast as the rationale behind this. What is your stand on this matter?

God’s response:

“Come as you are. All are welcome”

God is not concerned about our outward appearance. It is what we wear inside that matters – our purpose and intention. One can say that the wedding garment that God speaks of is our disposition and demeanor before God.

“For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” Excerpt from 1 Samuel 16:7

Then God added… “Come naked before Me.”

This is how we should present ourselves to the Lord. This is the appropriate attire” to wear.

Question: God, what do you see when you look at us?

God’s answer:

I see you.

Question: What is the meaning of the Parable of Talents (Matthew 25:14-30)?

God’s answer:

Don’t be lazy. Don’t procrastinate. Be productive. Do your part.

This was about the sin of sloth. God gave me a more modern version of the meaning of this parable. It is the saying: “When the cat is away, the mice will play.” This is what the third servant did.

God’s definition of being productive:

Rise and shine.

Tidbit: The phrase Rise and shine has its roots from the bible (Isaiah 60:1) “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee”

The Parable of Talents is often interpreted to mean using our God-given talents. To which God replied:

The only thing you have to offer to anyone is My good in you - not your talents, your smarts, your education or your resources.

God use the phrase My good in you instead of the good in you for whatever goodness we have inside is God in us.
